Method

Taking the first of the square templates, fold into four and mark a semi-circular line across the three raw corners of the square. Holding by the folded corner, cut around the semi-circle neatly. Open the square out and you should have four petal sides. Continue in this manner for the remaining 8 squares.

Take one of the petals and gather evenly in the middle of the flower to create a smaller, flowerette. Finish securely before cutting thread and moving on to all 8 petals. When you’ve finished all flowerettes, take one of the felt circles and start to build the flower.

Place four flowerettes around the circle and then four more evenly upwards leaving a space in the centre for the last flowerette.

With the remaining felt circle, sew a pin firmly to the back and then, with a neat running stitch, sew both circles together to create your brooch.
