Keeping up with craft
Posted on: June 29, 2018
The best part of being a Makedomender is that we get to make craft ourselves. It’s lovely to try something that we might not have much experience of and bring that to the workshops at our parties. It keeps our outlook fresh and current and recently I spent the very best day learning calligraphy and brush lettering with Fine Letter Company and Leanda Xavian.
To say it was easy-peasy would be fake news for sure! Trying out using a pen quill for a start was a lesson in itself but the results, with a little practice, definitely encouraged me to think that practice could make perfect!
Brush lettering, on the other hand, was something I really wanted to try out and I wasn’t disappointed. Using the pen with ink reservoir meant that you could really concentrate on the lettering. Not that it was a piece of cake by any means!
Still, I think this is one craft I will want to pursue and practice. I like to think that many of our craft hen party guests say the same about all the sewing, printing and floristry that we offer in our craft workshops. How about being crafty for a day too?!
