Christmas shopping

Posted on: November 23, 2011

There may still be leaves on the trees but it is also serious Christmas shopping time.  The Menders are very keen to dust off their biggest shopping totes to bag the best in British design and head off to the fairs and studios that are popping up in the next few weeks.

Bee lives in Kent so it’s hopping on the train to Margate, Hastings and Lewes (I know, East Sussex!!) this year to meander into all the great small businesses that are springing up in those south coast towns (I know, Lewes isn’t on the coast!).  I love the old High Street in Hastings with great shops like Made in Hastings or Butlers Emporium on George Street just round the corner.

Of course, Margate is much closer and has Blackbird which will be bursting with lovely things for Christmas.

There again, how about all the fabulous Christmas fairs going on.  Selvedge Magazine will be hosting it’s annual fair in Holloway and Cockpit Arts open studios both in Holborn (gotta be quick for this as its this weekend) and Deptford.

Nearer to home for me is the Wealden Midwinter Fair near Tunbridge Wells (this Thursday) which just gets better and better if somewhat muddy.

Mind you, much the easiest way is to pop into our little shop which is growing daily with little delicacies that we look out for and which we will be adding to over the next few weeks.

If you’re feeling extra crafty you could sign up for one of our classes, including our up-coming felt Christmas decoration class on Sunday 27 November.

You could even think of choosing a similar party to the recent Christmas decoration hen party we hosted.

Or better still, think of a crafty person who would love one of our gift awards which would purchase them a place at one of our workshops or the chance to purchase more wonderful bits for their work box.

Have a wonderful Christmas!!!
