Beginners’ crochet classes in Kent
Posted on: February 25, 2012
The Menders don’t always have to hold their crochet classes in London! Oh no, we travel far and wide – or at least a few miles up the road – in Margate to be precise!!
The designer, Maxine Sutton, who in addition to creating some wonderful screenprinted collages and accessories, owns a lovely wee shop, Blackbird, in the Market Square in Margate. As I’m a bit of constant visitor over that way seeing what delights have landed in the shop, we got to planning classes to compliment her screenprinting and embroidery classes she has started running since late last year. Crochet seemed to fit very nicely.
So, we’re offering Beginners’ Crochet classes, the first on Sunday 11 March, 12-3pm. As with our Menders’ classes, all materials and light refreshments are included, with the best tuition this side of the date-line so best not missed and all for 30 quid.
Why not incorporate this on a day-out for the workers basis, with a trip to the Turner Contemporary and a tub of whelks?!
And if you already crochet then a real treat is in store for May when we’re holding a Project crochet event which will be heavily influenced by the seaside and the Tracy Emin exhibition opening at the same time.
If you’re interested in coming to the workshops then skip over to Blackbird and book your place. If you’re still keen as mustard to learn to crochet but can’t make it out to the sticks then sign up for our London beginners’ crochet workshop on Sunday 22 April, 1-4pm, £35.
